A woman suffering from multiple sclerosis, and perfectly lucid, makes a decision not to go on living. And to do whatever it takes to make it happen. A story of pain and dignity. On June 11th 2004, a French Canadian, Manon Brunelle, went to Zurich, Switzerland, for her own assisted suicide. She asked Benoit Dutrizac, a well-known journalist at Télé-Québec, and director André St-Pierre to accompany her in her ultimate adventure. They met with her numerous times to document her life, her illness and pain and finally her decision to travel to Zurich. The result is incredibly moving yet never voyeuristic, and puts the issue of human dignity firmly in the spotlight. A fascinating film that stirs debate, as Manon hoped it would.
